Welcome from the Chairman
Dear Wharton Alumni and Friends
I am delighted to invite you to participate in the first-ever Wharton Global Alumni Forum to be held on the continent of Africa, in Cape Town on June 26-27, 2008.
As a South African and a Wharton alumnus, I am particularly proud that we have been given this chance to showcase some of the success stories and exciting business opportunities in South Africa and Africa as a whole. The theme for the Forum is “AFRICA EMERGENT: TRANSFORMATIONAL LEADERSHIP”, and we plan to highlight outstanding African leaders who are helping to bring about positive change in South Africa and throughout the continent.
The Forum will include Keynote Speeches, Panel Discussions and plenty of time for networking. We will also continue the successful practice of last year’s Forum, and schedule Master Classes taught by some of Wharton’s finest professors. We anticipate that Wharton alumni from all over the world will attend this Forum, and I know you will have many opportunities to renew and initiate new personal and professional relationships.
All the Forum meetings with take place in the Table Bay Hotel in Cape Town. The Gala Banquet on Friday night will take place at the Castle of Good Hope, and will be an experience not to be missed. Elsewhere on the website you can learn about post-Forum tourism that is being arranged, including amongst other things, visits to the famous South African game parks. All Wharton Global Alumni Forums are family-friendly; bring your family and enjoy this amazing country!
My wife Olive and I look forward to welcoming you to Cape Town. I hope you can join us on June 26-27 and we look forward to meeting you.
Sincerely,
Anthony Hamilton Russell, WG’90
